Original Name: Da Huang Pian / 大黄片

Action:
Purges heat and dry stool, and regulates intestinal Qi

Indication:
Constipation due to dryness and heat in stomach and intestine

Constipation
Abdominal pain and tenderness
Dry and hard stool
Restlessness
Yellow thick tongue coating
Excess pulse

Cautions and contra-indications:
Contra-indicated in pregnancy. Discontinue therapy when it becomes effective. Be careful of spleen and stomach deficiency patterns.
