CF38 - Purge Heat

Original Name: Long Dan Xie Gan Pian / 龙胆泻肝片

Action:
Clears excess liver and gallbladder fire, removes damp heat

Indication:
Excessive heat in liver and gallbladder
Damp heat in lower warmer (lower Jiao)

Key Symptoms and Signs for Use:
Fire in liver:
Bitter mouth
Red eyes
Pain and bulging of ear
Restlessness
Damp heat in lower warmer (lower Jiao):
Turbid and smelly urine
pruritus, swelling of vulvae
yellowish and fetid vaginal discharge.
Tongue: Red, yellow coating
Pulse: Excess

Clinical Application for Reference:
Conjunctival congestion
Headache
Sudden loss of hearing
Shingles, herpes simlex
Acute hepatitis
Hypertension
Acute otitis media
Eczema
Acute cystitis
Acute cholecystitis
Vaginitis
Gout
